Are your aluminum stand up pouches recyclable?
Our pouches are typically classified under recycling code #7 (Other) because they are made from multiple laminated materials. While this makes them challenging to recycle in many standard municipal programs, specialized post-consumer recycling streams are emerging. Can I package acidic or oily products in these pouches?
Absolutely. The inside of every pouch is a food-grade, product-contact-safe sealant layer, typically made of PE or CPP. This inner layer is inert and designed to safely house a wide range of products, including those with high acidity, oils, or strong aromas, without any risk of corrosion or flavor transfer. All our materials are BPA-free.
Why can't I have a clear window on a true aluminum foil pouch?
A true aluminum foil pouch contains a solid, opaque sheet of aluminum as its core barrier layer. This layer, which provides the ultimate protection, cannot be made transparent. If a window is essential for your design, a metallized pouch is the perfect alternative. It provides a similar metallic sheen and excellent protection while allowing for a clear window to showcase your product.
What is the purpose of a degassing valve, and do I need one?
A one-way degassing valve is critical for products that release gases after being packaged, most notably freshly roasted coffee beans which release CO₂. The valve allows this gas to escape without letting damaging oxygen enter the pouch, preventing the bag from bursting and preserving the coffee’s freshness. If your product is not gas-releasing, a valve is not necessary.
